Ummah Feed Community Guidelines

Last updated: 12 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-12

Terms and Conditions · Community Guidelines · Privacy Policy

1. Welcome

Assalamu alaikum, and welcome. The Ummah Feed is a place to share useful reminders, ask questions, celebrate good news and keep up with mosques. These Community Guidelines form part of the Salah Habit Terms and Conditions. They apply to every member, mosque representative and organisation, and to posts, replies, reposts, images, polls, profile photos, names, handles, biographies and linked material. You must be 16 or older to create a Feed profile. Read and agree to both documents before joining.

2. Speak with adab

Treat people with dignity. Disagree with ideas without insulting, humiliating or targeting people. No bullying, stalking, repeated unwanted contact, sexual harassment, intimidation, coordinated pile-ons or encouraging others to abuse someone. Do not retaliate against people who report concerns. Good-faith criticism and respectful differences of belief are welcome.

3. No profanity or obscenity

No swearing, vulgar language, obscene words or gestures, or abusive slurs in any language. This includes casual jokes, quoted material, abbreviations, censored or disguised spellings, coded substitutions and words inside images, memes or screenshots. Do not try to bypass filters. Choose respectful language even when describing a disagreement.

4. No sexual or exploitative content

Do not post pornography, nudity, sexualised imagery, sexual solicitation, sexual acts or discussions, sexual slang, fetish content or obscene gestures. Educational, joking or religious framing does not exempt sexual content from this Feed standard. No intimate images without consent, sexual deepfakes, sexual blackmail or exploitation. These rules apply to real, edited, illustrated and AI-generated material.

5. Protect children

No child sexual abuse material, grooming, sexualisation of minors, exploitation, trafficking or requests for private contact or images that put a child at risk. Never share or threaten to share such material. Report concerns using the in-app menu or support@salahhabit.com with a link or identifier; do not download, repost or send the material itself. Do not expose a child’s identity, school, location or private circumstances. Obtain appropriate permission before sharing lawful, non-sensitive photos of others, especially children. Serious child-safety violations can lead to immediate removal, a permanent ban and referral to the relevant authorities.

6. No hate or violent extremism

No attacks, slurs, dehumanisation, discrimination or calls to exclude or harm people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, caste, religion, sect, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or another protected characteristic. Do not incite hostility by declaring people disbelievers or apostates. No praise, recruitment, propaganda, fundraising or practical support for terrorism or violent extremist groups. Respectful discussion of beliefs is allowed; targeting people with hate is not.

7. No threats or harmful encouragement

No threats, incitement to violence, graphic gore, celebration of suffering, instructions for violent wrongdoing or dangerous challenges. Do not encourage, glorify or give instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. Supportive, non-graphic requests for help are welcome. Do not sell or facilitate unlawful weapons, drugs, stolen goods or other illegal activity. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services; Feed reports are not an emergency service.

8. No slander or harmful deception

Do not spread rumours, malicious false claims, defamatory accusations or humiliating gossip about identifiable people. Distinguish facts, opinion and uncertainty. Do not publish deceptive edits, impersonated statements, fake evidence or harmful misinformation. Clearly identify synthetic or edited material where people might otherwise reasonably mistake it for a real person, event or statement. These rules do not prevent lawful, good-faith criticism or reporting wrongdoing through appropriate channels.

9. Share religious sources carefully

Include a verifiable reference when quoting the Quran, hadith or a scholar. Preserve the words accurately and distinguish quotation from your own explanation. Never fabricate scripture, narrations, citations, gradings or scholarly endorsements. If you cannot verify a quotation, do not present it as authentic. Sharing a qualified scholar’s view with attribution is welcome; presenting your own personal fatwa or claiming authority you do not have is not. Ask a qualified scholar about personal rulings. Automated source labels may be mistaken and are not scholarly decisions.

10. Protect privacy and ownership

Do not share private addresses, phone numbers, identity documents, financial information, private messages or sensitive personal details without a lawful basis and appropriate permission. Do not threaten to expose someone. Avoid posting your own sensitive details too. Respect copyright, trademarks and image rights; attribution alone is not permission. Only share material you created, are licensed to use, or can lawfully use under an applicable exception. Do not publish confidential records or material obtained through hacking.

11. No scams, spam or advertising

No phishing, fraud, malware, misleading links, fake giveaways, commercial sales pitches, paid-channel promotion, affiliate offers or discount and referral-code advertising. Do not manipulate polls, likes or follows, buy engagement, flood conversations or repeatedly repost the same material. Genuine recommendations without a sales pitch are allowed. Normal mosque worship schedules, community events and mosque charitable appeals are welcome, subject to all other rules; a verified badge does not permit commercial advertising.

12. Fundraising and representation

Only a mosque’s own authorised account may publish charitable appeals. No personal or unverified fundraising, personal payment details or attempts to move people to private payment channels. Appeals must accurately identify the organiser, beneficiary and purpose and comply with applicable law. A listing or badge is not a Salah Habit endorsement, audit or guarantee of an appeal. Do not impersonate a person, scholar, mosque, charity, moderator or the Salah Habit team, or imply authority or a relationship you do not have.

13. How we enforce these rules

New posts, replies, attached images and poll text are screened automatically and some receive human review. Profiles and other activity may also be reviewed following reports or by our team. Content may be held, labelled, hidden or removed. We may limit features or suspend or ban profiles depending on severity, repetition and risk. Serious abuse, child exploitation or credible threats can lead to immediate permanent removal; other cases may call for a warning or temporary restriction. We may preserve evidence or make lawful reports to authorities. Do not evade enforcement with another account or help others do so. Screening is not a guarantee that content is safe or accurate.

14. Reports, blocking and review

Use the three-dot menu on a post or profile to report a concern or block an account. You can also email support@salahhabit.com about content, a profile, a moderation decision or our handling of a complaint. You do not need a Feed profile to report or block. Use Request a review on a moderated post where available, or email us with the relevant identifier and why you think a decision was mistaken. We aim to review reports promptly, generally within one day; urgent safety risks take priority and complex cases may take longer. We correct mistakes where appropriate. Block and mute tools reduce unwanted interactions but cannot prevent copies elsewhere or access through a different account. Do not submit knowingly false or coordinated abusive reports; good-faith mistakes are not punished.

15. Keeping the community informed

We may update these guidelines for changes in law, safety risks or the service and will communicate material changes. When asked, review and accept the current Terms and Community Guidelines before participating again. Contact support@salahhabit.com for questions. May Allah make this space a means of benefit for all of us.
